ISLAMABAD, Jan 31 (INP): Leader of the House in Senate, Senator Dr. Shahzad Waseem has said that the Constitution of Pakistan is concerted document under which parliamentary system is functional in the country.

He stated this while taking part in discussion of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Senators on Presidential form of governance here on Monday.

Senator Dr. Shahzad Waseem said that both presidential and parliamentary forms of governance are democratic systems and room for discussion on them always remains there.

On the occasion, he referred to the Benazir Bhutto’s address in National Assembly in 1996-97 in which she had said: “Despite two-third majority of Nawaz Sharif and coalition government of PP price hike and unemployment remains there which means parliamentary system in country can’t not proceed.”

The Leader of the House said that PTI has no connection with the recent days’ social media trends regarding Presidential system.
