Violation of merit in issuance of special cards to disabled persons matter of grave concern: Dr. Shahzad Waseem

ISLAMABAD, Jan 14 (PR): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Senator Dr. Shahzad Waseem expressing serious concerns over violation of merit in issuance of special cards to disabled persons by NADRA has demanded to raise the issue in Interior Committee so that the issue could be resolved.

Speaking in Senate here on Tuesday, Dr. Shahzad Waseem said that disabled persons holds key position in any civilized society and considered privileged class but unfortunately in our society they were being deprived of their due rights by other countrymen.

He claimed that the funds allocated for disabled persons under VIFP program were no distributed among the deserving people but were given to those who did not deserve.

The PTI leader also expressed grave concerns over violation of merit by NADRA in issuance of special cards reserved for special persons to healthy people to get privileges allocated for disabled people via this special card.

Senator Dr. Shahzad Waseem said that this deprives the deserving disabled person of his due rights as disabled people present in villages and towns don’t known about this phenomenon of getting privileges through special card.

Meanwhile, the PTI leader demanded to take the issue to Interior Committee so that he can present the proofs in this connections, flaws could be rectified and removed by discussing them.
