Record of medics prescribing certain drugs, patients should be kept: Dr. Shahzad Waseem

ISLAMABAD, April 26 (PR): Senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Dr. Shahzad Waseem has said that it was matter of grave concern that we have no data about the pattern of medicines being prescribed in hospitals and category of doctors prescribing those medicines.

He expressed these views while speaking in the Senate on Saturday on issues of rights of people with physically disabilities.

Senator Dr. Shahzad Waseem said that we also have no data that what sort of patients and what they are doing.

He was of the opinion that throughout the globe, progress of IT science was being cashed and maximum benefit was taken of it. This IT science progress goes to your databases and policy flows and generated on evaluation of these databases, he added.

The PTI leader further stated that if it not possible, they should be brought to list of controlled drugs list as OPF Narcotics.

Dr. Shahzad Waseem said, “Certain anti-biotic drugs should be blocked and complete record of the medics who, when and for whom he prescribed the said drug should be kept.”
