Dr Shahzad Waseem send a letter of Condolence to Chinese Ambassador on tragic murder of tourists at Nanga Parbat Base Camp.
In his letter Dr Shahzad Waseem expressed deep sense of shock and offers his heartfelt condolences on brutal murder of Chinese tourists in Pakistan’s northern region on June 23, 2013. He said news of the terrorist attack targeting 9 tourists residing in Fairy Meadows region shook the entire nation for there is no history of such acts at all.
“At this critical stage when Pakistan is confronted with multiple crises especially law and order, energy shortfall, subsequent shattered economy and gloomy foreign investments, the killing of foreign tourists who included Chinese and Ukrainians would further aggravate the perception of Pakistan as an unsafe volatile place.” said Dr. Shahzad while talking to media here on Monday.
He said that besides many other dimensions of bilateral relations, the country’s tallest peaks and picturesque valleys have been serving as bridge between nature-lovers in China and the mountain-dwellers in Pakistan and he can understand that the tragedy will have deep imprint on the minds of great people of China.
He further said that he is optimistic that instead of creating a gulf between the two people, this tragedy will bring both the nations closer together.
